We’ve heard about the old Cedar Avenue Bridge for a long time now, but we had no idea how to get to it and what it was like. The other day, Mom took just me to go and check it out. Since I’ve been home a lot, it is nice to spend time with just me and Mom. It is much more than we expected and we have to go back to do more exploring another day.

Thankfully, during the weekdays, there isn’t much going on, so we had the place mostly to ourselves. It isn’t often one finds a big place like this and can take a photo without other people in it. The bridge which has been reopened since 2017 is right behind me.

We found a lot of information plaques along our walk talking about the bridge and the entire area.

There are a few lookout points. This one looks out over a swampy area. I could see lots of ducks out there in the distance. I prefer something more interesting like squirrels but we didn’t see any of them at all.

The view from the bridge is nice. It crosses over two lakes and the Minnesota River.

Fall is here and we are excited for winter to show up. If we come back later in the year, we will need to keep an eye out for ice, I guess. It is more of a warning for the humans than us pups.

Along the trails they have lots of these stone blocks which are ideal for photo posing. I think they are stone from the area.

If you are in the area, this is a great place to walk and you can walk for miles and miles on all the trails. Next time we will go further, this time was more of a “see what is there” kind of quick tour of the Old Cedar Avenue Bridge.
